Techniques for Conversion of PSD Design Into HTML-CSS

[ad_1]

There are many different techniques for conversion of Photoshop designs into HTML/CSS web pages. Graphical files prepared in Photoshop can be converted manually, with a help of special software or by conversion professionals. PSD to HTML, PSD to HTML or PSD to CSS – design conversion options are chosen considering what a site owner wants to get in the end. Conversion of PSD into website usually takes for professional about 8 hours for homepage and some more time for other additional pages. For novice in PSD to CSS conversion it may take several days to create a HTML.

Various Photoshop to web conversion techniques are distinguished by their own special features. Classical variant is a conversion of PSD to simple poor styled HTML. It was commonly used for old-style pages that don’t require additional features. The design was strict and minimalistic. But nowadays this technique is not enough for a representation of contemporary web pages high-loaded with content and media. So the technique of conversion of PSD to XHTML has appeared. XHTML has a number of features that extend the functionality of a traditional HTML markup. That’s why such kind of markup is called XHTML – eXtended HyperText Markup Language. This technique was made paying a lot of attention to have compatibility with the standard HTML markup. Some tags of standard HTML were presented variously depending on a web browser a visitor uses. XHTML makes it possible to create standardized webpage representation for all the browsers irrespective of their versions and types. XHTML is very common in concept of Web 2.0 quality websites. One of the other techniques to convert PSD to website is CSS – Cascading Style Sheets. Such a name is used to reflect the main feature of this technique – the rules of markup styling are performed in a cascading order. For example, if we have one condition enabled, we get one representation. If this condition is disabled, we have another condition check to denote its status and make the representation according to this condition. If the condition is disabled, the rule checks the third one or performs a standard output. Such a cascade of rules’ checks influenced the name of CSS as we know it. With such a feature design to CSS pages are much more flexible than classical design to HTML ones. CSS is used in connection with either HTML or XHTML. In such a way structure of document is separated from its representation.
