Free SEO Tools – Easy Site Validation W3C Tools

[ad_1]

The use of free SEO tools should be a part of every SEO project. Why? As an SEO consultant and a raving fan of sharing useful information I would highly recommend every Webmaster, Web Designer, Web Developer, or any other person looking to optimize their website, use the free SEO tools provided by The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). I’ve outlined three very important reasons why you should use these free SEO tools:

  • #1 – Saves you money. All software offered by W3C is Open Source / Free software. Which means that you can download and use them for free, if you like.
  • #2 – Saves you time. I personally use all W3C tools on every   web  page of every website I  design  and optimize for the simple fact that is saves me a boatload of time. Sifting through hundreds or thousands of lines of code manually can take hours, if not days. Which brings me to my third reason…
  • #3 – Identifies HTML coding errors. The W3C Markup Validator, CSS Validator and Link Checker allows you to simply input your web address, click a button, and their software automatically finds errors within the html coding of that particular web page.

Right now you may be asking yourself, “How is this directly related to SEO and why is this so important when optimizing my web site?”. If you don’t already know the answer, it’s because Google and many of the other search engines have a hard time indexing your site if your HTML coding is full of errors. This is important for search engine optimization because many times these coding errors can mean the difference between a first page ranking and not being seen at all. Now you can see why I use these powerful SEO tools and why I recommend you use them too. Below is a little more detail about each tool and a link to the W3C website where you can find each tool.

What is the Markup Validator and what does it do? The Markup Validator, also known as the HTML validator, is a free tool and service that validates markup: in other words, it checks the syntax of Web documents, written in formats like HTML and XHTML, SVG or MathML.

What is the CSS Validator and what does it do? The CSS Validator is a free tool and service that validates Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) or documents using CSS.

What is the Link Checker and what does it do? The Link Checker is a free tool and service that checks anchors (hyperlinks) in a HTML/XHTML document. Useful to find broken links, etc.

You can find all these free SEO tools on the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) website: http://www.w3.org.

Like mentioned before, I use all these free SEO tools as part of the optimization process for every web site project I take on. All these tools are extremely helpful when optimizing web pages and I highly recommend you check them out, test them out and bookmark them for future use.
